Neighbouring Villages Union Naltoqa (NVUN) has sought reply from the special secretary (home) regarding to appointment of constables (GD) to the 8th NAP Bn. Naltoqa, Zunheboto.
In a letter signed by Neighbouring Villages Union Naltoqa chairman, Kashito (GB Asukhomi) and secretary Vikheto Ina (GB Yezami), they stated that the government after taking note of excess appointment, directed the DGP not to entertain fresh appointment either by DGP office or unit commanders vide letter dated July 25 2014.
However, NVUN claimed that the minister in-charge “in a letter dated March 28, 2015 to DGP Nagaland, recommended 10 constables for appointment under 8th NAP Bn. Naltoqa.”
They said the same was endorsed by the DGP to commandant 8th NAP Bn. Naltoqa on April 6, 2015 and as per the order of the CO dated April 10, 2015 the appointments were made.
In this regard, Neighbouring Villages Union Naltoqa demanded to know “why open recruitment was not conducted?” The signatories also pointed out that since all the districts have their own unit except few district, “what is the reservation quota for the concern districts?
Based on the directive to treat the appointments null and void and disciplinary action to be taken against concern officers, NVUN asked “what is your stand regarding appointment of 10 constables?”
NVUN also pointed out that when 90% appointed (constables) were from other districts, whether the appointments were justifiable?
The union has urged upon the special secretary to respond to the questions through the media and warned that failure to comply with its demands would attract unwarranted relation and incidents and for which the union should not be blamed.
