Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has welcomed and appreciated the joint statement issued by the state chief minister Neiphiu Rio and leader of the opposition TR Zeliang “endorsing” the resolutions adopted on October 15, 2020 at the consultative meeting organized by the government of Nagaland at the State Banquet Hall in Kohima and September 14, 2020 by the Political Affairs Mission (PAM) of the NPF.

The ruling NDPP through its media & communication committee said that at this crucial juncture of the Naga political issue it was imperative that all stakeholders stood united.

It said that the chief minister and the leader of opposition deciding to leave aside political differences in the interest of the Naga people and come together spoke volumes on the commitment of the leadership to usher in a final settlement to the Naga political issue.

NDPP affirmed that the party stood united in its support of “this historic statement” made by the two leaders and fully endorsed the resolutions adopted by the representatives of the Naga people at the consultative meet.

Further, NDPP has called upon all Nagas to stand united in “our endeavour” to bring about a final settlement to the Naga issue that was honourable and acceptable to the people.
