Entrepreneurship development on piggery

College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry (CAU), Jalukie, organised entrepreneurship development programme on piggery for youths from September 15, 2020 to January 22, 2021 on scientific management and rearing of pigs. 

A press release by CAU Jalukie stated that, training programme was conducted with help of St. Xavier College (SXC), Jalukie, whereby students from SXC voluntarily participated in the training programme by utilising lockdown period of pandemic COVID-19.   

Co-ordinator of the training programme, assistant professor, department of LPM, Dr. T. Gyaneshori Devi along with professor, department of ILFC, Dr. A Subramaniam and his team trained the students and conducted the programme. 

Dean, SXC, Dr. AK Sangwan along with faculty members also supported throughout the training programme. Training programme was for rearing pigs by scientific method, which was found successful and profitable, within a short period by rearing 20 piglets.

Certificate distribution ceremony was conducted at COVSc & AH, Jalukie on January 23, where Sangwan addressing the participants stated that scientific rearing of pig was suitable in Nagaland and adviced youngster to adopt the method for income generation and self employment.
