Gov reviews progress of road projects

Nagaland governor RN Ravi Tuesday held a detailed review meeting on the progress of the NHIDCL projects for two-lane of Kohima-Jessami road (109.32 KMs), Chakabama-Zunheboto road (115.53 KMs) and Pfutsero-Phek road (62.56 KMs) at Vamuzo Memorial Town Hall, Chozuba under Phek district.

According to a Raj Bhavan statement, Ravi reviewed the progress of the projects in keeping with his thrust on accelerated infrastructure development in the State. Ravi advised the deputy commissioners of concerned districts to take active interests in resolution of local issues that caused “avoidable delay” in completion of the projects on time. He also directed the concerned contractors to mobilise adequate resources—men, material and machines—to achieve the target.

Ravi has reportedly taken serious note of lackadaisical approach of some departments for not carrying out works despite the NHIDCL having deposited funds in their accounts 2-3 years ago. Their inactions have added to unnecessary delay in the progress, Raj Bhavan stated.
