Dimapur night curfew 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.; Odd-even rule for vehicles from today

In partial modification of the earlier order, chairman of District Task Force and deputy commissioner Dimapur, R. Soundararajan, through an order on May 4, stated the timing for the night curfew in Dimapur shall be from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. Containment measures: Meanwhile, DC Dimapur has also issued directives for strict compliance by all in areas notified as containment zones– all 23 wards under the DMC, all colonies under the jurisdiction of Chumukedima Town Council and all colonies/ villages along the DimapurChumukedima 4-lane road. The order shall come to force with effect from 7 p.m. of May 5 for a period of seven days. All activities, including movement of persons will be prohibited in the areas under containment, except in case of the following permitted activities:-

  • Movement of goods vehicles including vehicles carrying oxygen/oxygen cylinders and other Medical equipment
  • Agri & Allied activities, vegetable, fish/meat vendors, milk booths, provisional stores, tyre repair shops, bakeries, local grocery stores, including animal feed shops for public purchase may remain open from 6 a.m. to 2 pm. Small, stand alone shops in colonies subject to regulation by respective ward/colony authority. 
  • ll health care facilities including animal healthcare, hospital clinics, nursing homes and movement of healthcare workers. All pharmacies including those selling veterinary medicines
  • All persons going for Covid-I9 vaccination, COVID testing and medical emergencies
  • All shops in market complexes and single brand malls, clothes/apparel/footwear stores shall remain closed. Multi Brand stores like Vishal Mart, Big Bazaar etc may remain open, provided they sell only essential items and observe all necessary Covid-19 SOPs
  • Movement of all private passenger shall be allowed to ply on odd/even system with occupancy of 50% for the permitted activities. Public transport vehicles (both public and private) like buses, taxis, autos, two wheeler taxis etc shall be allowed to ply with occupancy of 50% with a maximum limit of 25% of such vehicles in the district. The necessary arrangements shall be done by the District Transport Officer, Dimapur
  • All gatherings are prohibited and all places of mass gatherings will remain closed including religious places, except for solemnization of weddings with prior permission of the Deputy Commissioner and shall be limited upto 50 persons.
  • All Officers and Staff working under District Administration, Police, Security forces, Fire and Emergencies Services, Medical, Postal Services, NIC, NSDMA, Home Guards & Civil Defense, SDRF, Power, PHED, Food & Civil supplies, Finance, Treasury & Accounts, Banks/Insurance/ATMs, IT & C, IPR, Social Welfare department including functioning of Sakhi One Stop Centre/ Women Helpline, Child Protection Services and Anganwadi Services, LPG Services including their delivery, distribution and transportation, Private Water Tanker/ Carriers, Prison and related services, Courier services, Dimapur Municipal Council, Chumukedima Town Council, Gauhati High Court Kohima bench and District Court.
  •  Funeral services, limited to not more than 20 persons.
  • Construction activities. 
  • Petrol pumps shall remain open as usual, while ensuring there is no crowding. 
  • All establishments and personnel relating to electronic and print media, telecom/internet service providers. 
  • Dimapur airport shall remain open and movement of staff and passengers will be permitted.
  •  Hotels for lodging shall be allowed to remain open with minimum staff. Restaurants shall remain closed for in- house dining. Restaurants may, however, cater through takeaway or home delivery. Food delivery service providers and groceries delivery service providers are allowed to operate. 
  • Movement of all private passenger shall be allowed to ply on odd/even system with occupancy of 50% for the permitted activities. 
  • Public transport vehicles (both public and private) like buses, taxis, autos, two wheeler taxis etc shall be allowed to ply with occupancy of 50% with a maximum limit of 25% of such vehicles in the district. The necessary arrangements in this regard shall he done by the District Transport Officer, Dimapur. 
  • All gatherings are prohibited and all places of mass gatherings will remain closed including religious places, except for solemnization of weddings with prior permission of the Deputy Commissioner and shall be limited upto 50 persons.

More exempted: The State government has added few more departments and services to the list of exemptions from the purview of notified restrictions in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. 

These include social welfare department, including functioning of Sakhi One Stop Centre/Women Help Line, child protection services and anganwadi services, LPG services, including delivery, distribution and transportation, private water tanker/carriers, prison and related services, courier services, municipal services like cleaning and sanitation to be executed by Kohima Municipal Council, Dimapur Municipal Council and Chumukedima Town Council and Gauhati High Court Kohima Bench and district courts. 

Further, all places of mass gathering, including religious places, will remain closed except for solemnisation of weddings with prior permission of deputy commissioners across the State and shall be limited up to 50 persons. This was stated in an order issued by chief secretary J Alam.

VEHICULAR MOVEMENT ODD – EVEN SYSTEM
 
Commissioner of Police Dimapur, Rothihu Tetseo has ordered that movement of all vehicles in the declared containment zones under Dimapur district will be allowed to ply on Odd-Even system with effect from 7 p.m. of May 5, 2021 for a period seven days.
Further, all those under exempted categories have been asked to carry their ID cards at all times issued by the respective heads.
Meanwhile, Dimapur police in a tweet informed that a total of Rs. 1,19,700 was collected as penalty imposed on 1197 individuals for not wearing masks in public places.
