NDPP clarifies

Drawing attention to the reports spread on social media that the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) working president, Alemtemshi Jamir was the party’s chief ministerial candidate, the CEB of the party clarified that the news item was not an official statement of the party.
A press note issued by NDPP president, Chingwang Konyak said the CEB during its meeting held here on Thursday reviewed the social media reports.
According to Konyak the matter of Neiphiu Rio disassociating himself from NDPP was also taken up at the meeting after which it was decided that Alemtemshi would be tasked with the responsibility of leading and coordinating the party.
