Mayangnokcha Award Trust (MAT) has announced five award recipients for their academic excellence in the HSLC examinations, 2021.
According to a DIPR report, MAT informed that recipients of this year’s awards included: Keneino Thorie of Trinity School, Kohima “for academic excellence” and MAT- YRSD award subject topper- s/sciences (youth resources & sports department), Atula W. Mongro of Nagaland Christian Residential School, Mokokchung MAT-RC award subject topper- Ao (MIL) (Rockdale Club of Mokokchung in commemoration of their silver jubilee), Yimyatetla Longkumer of Holy Cross Higher Secondary School, Dimapur MAT-TY award, subject topper- science (Tir Yimyim: Dimapur based Ao News daily), Vibeli K Achumi of Fernwood School, Kohima MAT-EFoM Award, subject Topper-Mathematics (Education Forum of Mokokchung) and Tiamaong Aier of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Dimapur MAT-CEC award, subject topper – English (C-Edge College, Dimapur).
MAT conveyed its best wishes to the 2021 award recipients and prayed for progress in their academic pursuits.
It may be mentioned that MAT, established in 1993, is a philanthropic organisation awarding the HSLC toppers conducted by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) with a mission to further the quality of education in the state.
It has also been working to uplift of the Naga youth especially in the academic sector.
According to the secretary, MAT, Dr. Furkumzuk, the MAT recognises, honours and encourages meritorious Naga students at the High school level and aims to create spirit of healthy competitiveness among the students in the field of education in order for them to bring out their best.
