Jacob asks people living in border areas to promote peace

Highlighting the need of maintaining peace and tranquillity in Nagaland-Assam border, Jacob Zhimomi, MLA, has called upon people living in border areas to maintain cordial relationship with neighbours.
Speaking at the inaugural function of border rest house at Aghunaqa, EAC headquarters on September 30, Jacob also advised the people to create a platform to promote cultural ties and local tourism between the neighbouring states. 
On border issues between Assam and Nagaland, he stated that the existing agreements signed between the two states should be reviewed and the same yardstick be applied on both states.
Addressing the gathering of GBs and public leaders of Aghunaqa, Ato, Khaghaboto, Kuhuboto and Niuland areas, Jacob reminded the leaders that with the support of the general public and churches, they has an immense role to play in the overall growth of their areas.
The MLA also lamented that border villages were yet to witness the light of the day in terms of connectivity, infrastructure, medical facilities and other basic amenities entitled to them. 
Others who spoke on the occasion include EAC Aghunaqa, Kitoka Chishi, Western Sumi Kukami Hoho president, S. Vihuto Yeputhomi; advisor Kuhuboto-Aghunaqa-Khaghaboto (KAK) union, L.K. Achumi and presidents of GB association of five areas.
The inaugural function of the rest house which was organised by KAK union was chaired by KAK union vice president, Viheshe Chishi and recorded by KAK union general secretary, Kawoto Aye, AAPF president, Rev. Kiheto Awomi said the invocation prayer, KAK union vice president, Ahoto Yeputhomi delivered welcome address, KAK union president, Shiwoto Yeputhomi proposed vote of thanks and Hukai Baptist Church Pastor, Keyevi Katy pronounced the benediction.
