DC Kohima bans gambling activities

On learning that some persons/groups of persons have been organizing gambling activities including dice games (Chandi Monda etc.) in and around Kohima Town, DC Kohima, Shanavas C, has banned all gambling activities including dice games (Chandi Monda, etc) with immediate effect. It stated that such activities are not only illegal but also create public nuisance and disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of the town. The order has been issued to maintain a peaceful atmosphere in and around Kohima Town and warned that strict action will be initiated against the defaulter(s) as per relevant sections of the law.
