ATMA conducts demo on ‘Yellow Sticky Trap’

ATMA Dimapur (Niuland Block) conducted demonstration on “Application of Yellow Sticky Trap in Vegetable Fields” at Viyito village on January 7 with Dr. Amitabha Dalal, Assistant Plant Protection Officer (Entomology), CIPMC, Dimapur as the resource person.
At the demonstration, Dr. Amitabha said that farmers should practice crop rotations, intercropping and other cultural methods to control pests’ infection and not concentrate much on use of pesticides. Resource person also highlighted on the advantages of Pheromone traps and demonstrated on how to use yellow sticky insect trap at a one acre vegetable field.
Later, demonstration was conducted at Hevikhe village on “Cultivation Methods of Winter Maize” with Demalu Hasnusa, BTM, Niuland Block as the resource person. He emphasized on proper spacing methods, timely irrigation, weeding and seed treatment.
