Governor Acharya’s message on World Environment Day

Nagaland governor P.B. Acharya, on the eve of World Environment Day (WED) has urged both the government and other institutions, including NGOs and students to put more effort in protecting the environment to bring about a better tomorrow for the future generations.
On the occasion, Governor called upon all to reaffirm the pledge to protect and preserve the environment, said PRO quoting Acharya in a statement.  
He said that the day was observed every year to raise global awareness to protect Mother Nature and planet earth through various positive environmental actions. Acharya also said that the people of the State have been living in harmony with nature since time immemorial. However, he said that the increases human intervention and unrestrained industrialization have led to increase degradation in environment leading to change in climate conditions and global warming.  
He further expressed appreciation on the growing concern among the people to protect and preserve the environment in the recent years.
