Various programmes organised for I-Day celebrations

In preparation of the 77th Independence Day celebration, departments, educational institutions and different organisations conducted various programmes and activities across the state. Marking the culmination of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, “Meri Maati Mera Desh (MMMD) and “Har Ghar Tiranga” were also launched.

Ongpangkong: The “Meri Mati Mera Desh” campaign was launched on August 12 at Ongpangkong (North) Block (GPS Arjuma Mokokchung Village), wherein Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji said Mokokchung district have produced many brave hearts who have laid down their lives for the nation. The DC said that it was an honour to felicitate the heroes on the occasion. The programme also included, dedication of Shilaphalakam, felicitation of Veeron ka Vandan, Panch Pran Pledge with Mitti, hoisting of national flag and singing of national anthem and ceremonial plantation of saplings. Tening: In preparation for the upcoming Independence Day celebration, a mass social work was conducted on August 12, at Tening Town. All government employees and segments of community actively participated in the social work by cleaning the office premises and town area.

GHS Angjangyang: The Staffs and students of Government High School Angjangyang under SDEO Aboi, Mon observed the culmination of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” by organising a programme under “Meri Maati Mera Desh” on August 12, at school premises. NU Lumami: A massive plantation drive was carried out on August 10, at Nagaland University, Headquarters, Lumami under the aegis of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, wherein chief guest vice-chancellor, Professor Jagadish Kumar Patnaik highlighted the importance of environment. Around 100 students along with faculties, officers and staffs participated in the plantation drive.

Longleng: In view of the 77th Indian Independence Day celebration, a mass social work was conducted on August 12 at District Headquarters, Longleng. SMHSS: In preparation of the 77th Independence Day celebration, St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School Dimapur organised cleanliness drive on August 12.

AR Zbto: In the series of Independence Day celebration under the flagship program of “Har Ghar Tiranga”, an audio-video session was organised for NCC cadets of Zunheboto by Zunheboto Company of Assam Rifles. AR said the session was organized to give a brief on the Indian National Flag Code. The program aimed to educate and inspire the youth about the significance of the national flag and instil a sense of patriotism and national pride.

AR Phek: Phek battalion of Assam Rifles organised a dance competition as part of pre-Independence Day celebrations under the theme, “Promote peace, harmony through unanimity” on August 10 at Phek Battallion under Phek district.

AR Mon: Assam Rifles organised an awareness lecture on “Har Ghar Tiranga” on August 12 at Chenloisho, Mon, to promote Independence Day celebrations and the message of “Har Ghar Tiranga”.

AR Wangti: To celebrate “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” and Independence Day, Assam Rifles organised a lecture on the awareness of the national flag under “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign on August 12 at Sister Mission School, Wangti.

AR Baghty: To instil patriotism and love for the nation in young minds, Assam Rifles organised a pledge ceremony and tree plantation drive for students of Montfort School, Baghty on August 12.

AR Peren: The Assam Rifles hosted “Azadi Walkathon” on August, 11 at Assam Rifles Public School in Jalukie, Peren. The walkathon was celebration of unity and freedom, highlighting the importance of coming together as a community.

LDHSS: In continuation with series of events as part of “Har Ghar Tirang” campaign, Assam Rifles conducted an awareness lecture for the students of Little Daffodils Higher Secondary School on August 11, to enhance and instil the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the students and reminisce the journey of freedom fighters those who have contributed towards creating this great Nation.

GHSS Peren: Assam Rifles (AR) organised an awareness lecture on freedom struggle for NCC cadets of Govt Higher Secondary School in Peren District on August 10.

Chizami, Phek: As a Run up to Independence Day, Assam Rifles organized “Tiranga Yatra” for students of Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School on August 11 at Chizami, Phek.
