Fire destroys houses in Dmu

 Around 15-20 thatched houses were razed down by a fire that broke out at SP colony, Half Nagarjan area January 30 night at around 11:30 p.m. 
According to Fire and emergency service, Sub Inspector (SI) Nzanthung, properties worth 30 lakh (approx) were reportedly destroyed in the inferno caused due to short circuit. However, there was no report of any casualty.
Sources said that the explosion of around five LPG cylinders only led to the inferno spreading rapidly but the timely action of the fire brigade personnel, which arrived immediately after the fire broke out, prevented the fire from spreading to adjoining areas. 
Residents lamented that they could not save any of their belongings. 
Meanwhile, neighbours and village council have been rendering their service to the affected families by providing food and water.
