Pledge to end all forms of violence against women

Officers and employees of Civil Secretariat Nagaland took pledged to end all forms of violence against women at home, communities, workplace and digital space at the programme organised by Social Welfare Department at Secretariat conference hall on November 29.


A DIRP report informed that development commissioner R Ramakrishnan, who graced the event, said so far violence against women in Nagaland has been reported till now but in case of such immediate steps should be taken to eliminate it. He therefore urged all section of people to extend help to those people in desires and affected with domestic violence so that every section of people live in peace.


Also highlighting the significance of the program, Ramakrishnan asked the gathering to carry forward the program in the districts.


It may be noted that Nagaland along with the rest of the world will be observing the International Day for the elimination of violence against women and the launching of the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence ‘from November 25 and concluding on December 10 on International Human Rights Day.
