WC trying to put NSCN on wrong side, says NSCN (I-M)

NSCN (I-M) has accused the WC, NNPGs of desperately trying to put it on the wrong side of Naga political struggle in collusion with the Central government agents, the latter’s close friends and mentors.

Reacting to NNPGs statement “Time for Naga people to take a resolute decision”, the NSCN (I-M) in a statement said betrayal and deceit were treacherous subjects in the history of Naga political struggle, alleging that there were such groups characterised by treachery, traitorous, disloyal, perfidious and giving false appearance taking the name of Naga freedom fighters.

NSCN (I-M) said history was repeated when Indian intelligence agencies and their cohorts (NPC) hijacked the Naga political issue by bringing the 16 Point Agreement, which led to the creation of Nagaland, leaving out the interests of Nagas in other areas. It claimed that history was a living testimony when much bloodshed was introduced by the 16 Point Agreement.

However, refusing to learn any lesson from Naga history of “deceit and flattery” as manipulated by Indian intelligence agencies, NSCN (I-M) said that WC was in collision course with the historical and political rights of the Nagas and was openly raising its voice in defence of the 16 Point Agreement that history had condemned and rejected years ago.

According to the NSCN (I-M), these same people/groups were nowhere seen as bona fide Naga freedom fighters before the ceasefire was signed in 1997, and that they were found taking shelter in Assam Rifles camp.

The group said the memory was fresh how SC Jamir and Kitovi took 100 AK series rifles from the Central government to finish off the NSCN (I-M) and served quit notice to members of a particular tribe and murdered 35 innocent lives, including women, children, students, pastors, teachers, farmers and even chemist scientist. Hence, their professed role as Naga freedom fighters was smeared with the blood of innocent Nagas.

The NSCN (I-M) asked whether these groups had anything to share that they were for the Nagas, and not as stooges or cohorts controlled by Central government agents. It wished that God forbid repeat of history.
