Oral cancer month observed

To commemorate World Oral Cancer Screening Month, a screening camp on the ill effects of tobacco for school-age children was held in Christian School and Government Primary School, Pungro, Kiphire on April 1.


According to medical officer CHC Pungro, Dr. Weri Mero, the medical team of Pungro Community Health Centre (CHC), under the direction of CHC medical officer, organized the screening camp. At the camp, 600 students underwent an oral cancer screening and received a minor dental procedure. The students received oral health education in addition to the screening.
