AIDA-Child Friendly Dimapur holds workshop

AIDA-Child Friendly Dimapur, in collaboration with Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB), organized workshop at City Law College, Burma Camp, Dimapur on the theme, “Right to Life, Survival and Development”, on May 1.
A press release by PRO AIDA, informed that resource persons for the workshop were Senior Scientific Assistant, NPCB, Olivi G Chophy, Scientist ‘B’ NPCB, Yanathung Kithan, and Junior Scientific Assistant, NPCB, Rongsenben Longkumer.


The resource persons dwelled on the Air Pollution, Waste Management, National Green Tribunal Order, Waste Management scenario in Nagaland, Mission Life and its seven themes, i.e. save energy, save water, say no to single use plastic, reduce e-waste, adopt sustainable food systems, reduce waste and adopt healthy lifestyles.


The release informed that Assistant Professor, City Law College, Elizabeth Thungchanbeni E Ezung, while delivering the welcome address, enlightened participants on history and objective of commemorating International Labour Day. She also emphasized on the theme of International Labour Day 2024, “Ensuring safety and health at work in a changing climate” and encouraged aspiring lawyers to be educated and acquaint oneself with Labour Law to help the workers and ensure social justice in the society.


It further added that Civil Society Mobilization Officer, CFD, Mechietonü Agnes moderated the workshop, Project Coordinator, CFD, Garrol Lotha, shared on the concept of Child Friendly Dimapur, and stressed on the theme for the workshop.
The program concluded with interactive session where participants put forward their queries which were responded by resource person. A total of 34 students and faculties from City Law College attended the workshop.
