Educational institutions on Wednesday organised various programmes and activities for the students and faculty as part of their cocurricular activities.
MC: Modern College (MC), Piphema, held its parting social on May 1, for the outgoing students.
A press release by MC stated that Managing Director, MC, Pelee Hekha exhorted the parting seniors and encouraged students to step out of their comfort zone and learn how to face challenges in life and also motivated students to go out and explore the world of possibilities.
The release added that the event was moderated by Pfücüte Arüji and Rachel Thiumai, speech on behalf of outgoing student was delivered by Beyau K of 6th Semester, while Asst. General Secretary, Ricky Das, delivered speech on behalf of the juniors.
Vice president, EU, Nepe C, invoked God’s blessing and Pisala V Sangtam of 4th semester delivered the welcome note.
SAS: School of Agricultural Sciences (SAS), Nagaland University, Medziphema campus marked the 27th Annual School Week on May 1, with Col. Vikrant Gupta, Commandant 7th Assam Rifle, Medziphema, as chief guest.
A press release from, NU:SAS Medziphema Campus Prof. J. Longkumer stated that Col. Vikrant Gupta, in his speech lauded the Students’ Union, SAS, for organizing the event; and encouraged the young sportspersons to learn lessons of teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, fair play, passion for excellence and perseverance.
He opined that the students should be grateful to their parents and to their teachers, because without their support and guidance, the students would be bereft of so many essential requirements for personal development and growth. He was particularly happy that the SAS:NU encouraged such sports and cultural events because academics alone is not enough for all round development of the individual.
SCHE: Salesian College of Higher Education (SCHE), Dimapur, celebrated Gratitude Day in honour of the outgoing batch of 2024 in the college Auditorium hall on May 1.
A press release by SCHE stated that on behalf of the Principal, Fr. Maria Anthuvan SDB, thanked the outgoing students for their contributions and dedication towards the well being of the college and exhorted the students to uphold value of hard work and being good citizens to contribute to development of the nation.
On behalf of the outgoing students, Peter Khing expressed gratitude to the College, faculties and students for their unwavering support and guidance during the past three years, while general secretary of the College, Vijobi Sangtam, thanked the College faculties and students and also his forum members for their cooperation and coordination, and assistant professor, Lily, delivered a farewell speech on behalf of the teaching faculties, advising the students to never stop excelling in everything.
Friendly football and basketball matches were also played between the outgoing students and the College team.
