Reacting to the rejoinder to the clarification of NNC (PB) by president Z Royim on the suspension of vice president and the alleged termination of its executive “on grounds of false allegations”, the Central cabinet of NNC (PB) asserted that the accusations of anti-government activities against its general secretary, Home and UT1 and their terminations were “orchestrated” by VP SS Pongkho.
NNC (PB) claimed that this was done in retaliation to his (Pongkho) suspension, “by conspiring the president, resulting in detrimental effects on the functioning of the government.”
MIP said that the cabinet refutes the statement of induction of its general secretary, Home and UT-1, since they were appointed officially through a cabinet meeting held on April 29 and June 22, 2023 respectively.
Hence, MIP said their termination was initiated without central cabinet knowledge and considered null and void. It said that the cabinet stands firm on its decision and stand to Yezabo and April 22, 2023 meeting resolution.
MIP said that the VP overstepped the boundaries outlined in the constitution, compromising the sanctity of democratic principles. Consequently, the central cabinet resolved to terminate VP S.S. Pongkho from his position, it added. MIP clarified that despite internal issues, the positions of general secretary and Cabinet remained intact within the organization. It emphasized that there were no differences between the general secy and the president. However, individual actions have caused distress to the president and breached the organization’s yezabo, it said.
The cabinet also sternly warned against any actions aimed at tarnishing the government’s image. It said that the government remains steadfast in its commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring accountability at all levels of governance.
MIP said the central cabinet advocates open-door policy in addressing misunderstanding and resolving disputes, emphasizing a proactive approach to foster transparency and facilitate better resolution of issues at hand.
Royim condemns: NNC (PB) president Z Royim refuted and condemned the press release issued by Nupavi Achumi, Kakuto and Khevukhu without his knowledge on May 2, 2024.
In a statement, Royim declared to all that the three persons had terminated from the official record permanently.
As for S Pongkho, Royim said he would continue to take over the office and deal with the portfolio of kilonser finance and administrative reforms in his absence.
Royim cautioned the three persons not to misuse and mislead the name of NNC PB (Royim) though press statements or any other ways.
