Various organisations condemn rape of minor

Various organisations have strongly condemned the alleged rape of a minor by her own father at Samziuram village in Peren district.
ZMON: Zeliangrong Mipui Organisation Nagaland (ZMON) strongly condemned the recent inhuman and barbaric act by the father and denounced such reprehensible person committing satanic deeds against girls/women in the community.

ZMON president Apeuna Iheilung and general secretary Aluile Hegui in a press release expressed deep disappointment for being confronted with a devilish father who had shattered his very own daughter’s dreams by abusing her, committing sexual assault, raping her and threatening to kill her, thereby causing her psychological, physical and emotional trauma.
Asserting that such heinous crime could never be tolerated in a civilised society, they urged all right-thinking citizens to avidly and earnestly participate in condemning the horrific incident, and demand severe punishment to the accused befitting the act and deliver justice at the earliest.

They also expressed solidarity and sympathy with the victim and prayed earnestly that the victim recover from the mental and physical trauma, and not deterred in the journey of healing and justice. They requested the government agencies concerned to ensure proper rehabilitation of the victim.
ZSUN: Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) too expressed deep anguish over the gruesome incident, especially over the accused even threatening to murder his wife and the victim if his inhuman act was exposed to public.

The union strongly condemned the notorious act, stressing that such an act on an innocent individual must be publicly condemned by all sensible citizens and labelled as “a coward act”. ZSUN urged the authority to award befitting punishment for such heinous crime, declaring it unacceptable in the present-day society.

It also pledged justice to the victim and her family, besides urging the authority concerned to take stern action as per the provision of law against such heinous crime.
ZLSU: Zeliang Students’ Union (ZLSU) expressed shock and deep anguish over the heinous act of the father continuously raping his own daughter several times and even threatening to slaughter his family members if they disclosed his shameless and inhuman act.
The union in a statement declared that such a barbaric and unimaginable act did not have a place in the civilised society, stressing that action, not words, was required to check such heinous crime in the society.

“What kind of a father is he to commit such shameful crime against his own daughter and permanently taint the life of his own daughter. This kind of mental sickness should be treated by a death sentence to assure such a depravity act does not occur in the future of our society,” the union demanded.
The ZLSU said it was ashamed at the presence of such disgraceful and shameless people in the community, asserting that the perpetrator of such a heinous crime could not be tolerated in a civilised society.

Appealing to the law enforcement agencies to thoroughly investigate the matter, deliver justice and punish the culprit deemed fit under the law expeditiously, the union also expressed its deepest sympathy to the victim and prayed for her quick recuperation from the mental and physical trauma.
SSU: The Samziuram Students’ Union (SSU) said it was extremely confounded to learn of the flagitious crime committed against a 13-year-old girl under its jurisdiction in Peren district.
SSU president Adibo in a press release stated that a father, who should be the safest arm to lean on, raping his own biological child on multiple occasions was shameless, inhuman and unfit to live and coexist in the society.

He strongly condemned the reprehensible act perpetrated against the minor and demanded that the law enforcing agencies should investigate the case thoroughly, noting the threat of the accused to take the lives of his own family members, to deliver justice and punish the culprit under law at the earliest.
Apart from bringing the perpetrator of this heinous crime to justice expeditiously, the SSU president also appealed the public not to aggravate the situation by circulating any news related to the victim and its family, stressing that it was critical to ensure proper rehabilitation of the victim, to assuage her mental and physical trauma after the incident.
He further expressed solidarity and sympathy with the victim and her family, while appealing the authority concerned to expedite the matter to meet the end of justice.
