P Bashang inspects EE NPWD Dimapur

Minister of NPWD (Housing and Mechanical Engineering) P Bashang Chang on Monday inspected the potential sites that were left abundant to be taken up for construction. In this connection, the minister held a brief session with CE Housing and Technical Staffs of EE NPWD (Housing) Dimapur to discuss the upcoming rental housing projects of various types.


According to Chingmak Chang press secretary to the minister, Bashang also visited the ongoing “Demonstration Housing Projects” located at Sematila, Dimapur. The minister suggested that old buildings that were on the verge of collapse should be demolished upon receiving clearance from authority to proceed for setting up new construction projects.


It was informed that the department also raised concern with regards to instances where work order were issued but contractors could not start the work due to tenants refusing to vacate within the stipulated timeframe.
In this issue, Bashang advised the department to give another one month notice period to relocate prior demolishing.
The minister further advised the department officials to emphasize on importance of revenue improvement by identifying abundant government properties under NPWD and distinguish between those buildings which could be renovated for occupancy, and those with deteriorating condition to be demolished and also put up proposal for new construction projects.
