More organizations condemn rape of minor

The alleged rape of a minor by her father at Samziuram village in Peren district continues to evoke strong condemnation from various organisations.
ZYON: Zeliangrong Youth Organization, Nagaland (ZYON) in a statement said it was shocked and profoundly anguished by the heinousact committed by the biological father, who is a retired 3rd Assam Regiment and a native from Zunheboto district, currently residing at Samziuram.
Alleging that the father had been raping his minor daughter for six long years, the organisationsaid that he had even been covering his animalistic, barbaric and inhuman act by traumatising the child and family members with life threat.


“It is unthinkable of the father, the supposed keeper of the family,as a threat to the child and family. This beastly behaviour, mental illness and deliberate crime were a threat to the society and should be checked, treated and rewarded with highest possible punishment as per the law, so that no such heinous crime occurs in the society,” the statement emphasised.
The ZYON said it was deeply ashamed at the presence of such people infiltrating and polluting the community, declaring that the perpetrator of such a heinous crime could not be tolerated in a civilised society.


Urging every right-thinking citizen to condemn the coward act, the youth body appealed law enforcement agencies to investigate the case, deliver justice to the victim and punish the culprit deemed fit under the law expeditiously.
The organisation insisted that no bail should be provisioned, cautioning that whosoever did so would be solely held responsible for any repercussion that could arise in the future.
It also expressed sympathy to the victim and prayed for her speedy recovery from psychological and physical trauma.
JSU: Jalukie Students’ Union (JSU)has condemned in strongest possible termsthe unprecedented and reprehensible act of the fatherraping his own biological minor-daughter on multiple occasions at Samziuram village.


In a condemnation note, JSU assistant joint secretaryIleukaibe said the heinous crime struck at the very core ofsociety’s values and must be met with unequivocal condemnation by all right-thinking individuals.
He declared, “We stand united in our demand for justice and accountability. We call for the swift and thoroughinvestigation of this case, with all relevant laws applied to ensure that the accused faces the full consequences of his actions. Expedited submission of the chargesheet is imperative, and we urge authorities to grant no bail to the accused, given the gravity of the offense.”
Further, he emphasised adhering strictly to the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act to safeguard the rights of the victim and ensure a fair and expeditious trial.
Expressing solidarity with the victim and her family, Ileukaibe assured that the JSU would continue to advocate for their rights and for a society free from such despicable crimes.


ZSUD: Zeliang Students’ Union Dimapur (ZSUD) said it stood in shock and dismay at the appalling act. In a statement, the union said the unspeakable act of the father on his own innocent child and threatening to murder his own wife and the victim were utterly abhorrent, and deserved the strongest condemnation.
With profound sadness and grave concern, the union stated that it condemned this abhorrent act in the strongest possible terms.
According to ZSUD, the heinous crime of rape inflicted deep wound not only on the victim, but on the collective conscience of the society.
It declared that such acts of violence had no place in any civilised society, and must be met with swift and decisive action.


The union urged the law enforcement agencies to expedite their investigation and ensure that the one responsible for this reprehensible act was brought to justice without delay.
It insisted that justice must be served for the victim and the perpetrator held accountable for the act.
In this time of immense difficulty and trauma, the ZSUD also announced extendingits unwavering support and solidarity to the victim and her family.
“We stand with them in their pursuit of justice and healing, offering our heartfelt empathy and assistance in any way possible,” the union declared.


JPMO: Jalukie Phumling Mipui Organisation (JPMO) has strongly condemned the incident.
Sympathising with the victim and family members who had suffered irreparable and inhuman physical and mental trauma due to the incident, JPMO president and secretary in a press release said they were appalled by the occurrence of such a horrific and heinous crime within their backyard.
They lamented that such social evils and menaces were becoming a routine affair, which were demeaning the image and integrity of the peace-loving society.
They emphasised that such horrific and heinous acts of criminals should not go scot-free from the grip of justice, but most rigorous punishment imposed on the perpetrators of such crimes.
They demanded that justice be served swiftly and a strong message be sent to the society that perpetrators of such heinous crimeswere punished to the maximum extent of the law.
JPMO leaders also called upon every law-abiding citizen and frontal organisation to work collectively and extend all support to the victim, while striving to end the menace of crime against womenat the same time.
