Nagaland govt signs MoU with Oil India for eco-tourism

The Nagaland government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Oil India Limited (OIL), Noida, for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at developing eco-tourism in Intanki National Park.


The MoU was signed by chief minister Neiphiu Rio and OIL executive director Ranjan Goswami in the presence of minister for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change CL John; chief secretary Dr. J Alam, and other OIL representatives. Taking to ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Rio exuded confidence that the initiative will transform Intanki National Park into a model of sustainable development, conservation, and community participation, while also boosting eco-tourism.


The project, titled “Development of Eco-Tourism in Intanki National Park,” will focus on enhancing tourism infrastructure, wildlife protection, habitat improvement, and providing livelihood opportunities for local communities.


OIL has committed Rs. 566.80 lakh for the project, which will be completed by the Intanki Forest Development Agency (IFDA) within 24 months. The MoU will remain in effect for 30 months from the date of signing.
