Workshop on beekeeping practices

Zoology department of St. Joseph University (SJU) Dimapur, conducted two-day workshop on “Beekeeping practices”, in collaboration with Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM) on February 24 and 25. 

According to PRO, SJU, three professionals from Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission  presented detailed powerpoint presentation on various topics, such as apiary management, multifaceted benefits of bees and detailed account on the casts of honey bees. 

The objective of the workshop was to create awareness and bring into limelight, the significance of apiculture in strengthening livelihoods and economy. 

Practical demonstration on rearing and management of honey bees was given. 

Altogether, 96 students attended the workshop along with faculty and management of the university.
