Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and Linguistic Minority Forum of Nagaland (LMFN) have welcomed and congratulated Ajay Kumar Bhalla on his appointment and swearing-in as the 22nd Governor of Nagaland on August 25, 2025.
In a press release issued by the NDPP Media & Communication Committee, the party expressed confidence in Governor Bhalla’s leadership, citing his distinguished career as an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer and his tenure as Union Home Secretary—a post he held for five years, making him only the second officer to do so.
NDPP stated that the people of Nagaland look forward to his guidance in steering the State forward, especially in collaboration with the Government of Nagaland led by the chief minister, Dr. Neiphiu Rio.
The party noted that Governor Bhalla’s vast administrative experience and dedication to public service will be an asset to the State.
The NDPP further conveyed its best wishes for a successful and purposeful tenure and assured full support to the Governor in attending to the affairs of the State.
LMFN: Welcoming Ajay Kumar Bhalla, LMFN chairman, Bishnu Bhattacharjee, expressed optimism that under his leadership the constitutional values will be upheld and foster inclusive development across the state. The forum also conveyed confidence that the welfare and interests of linguistic minority communities would be safeguarded and promoted alongside those of the majority population.
