Mass social work conducted across Nagaland ahead of festive season

In line with the directive issued by the Home Department, Government of Nagaland, mass social work was conducted across various districts and sub-divisions of the state on November 12 as part of preparations for the upcoming festive season. The initiative aimed to promote cleanliness, hygiene and beautification of public spaces.
According to a DIPR report, the drive in Dimapur was led by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, along with administrative officers, government employees, and volunteers from various departments, civil society organizations and village councils. Participants actively cleared roadside debris, cleaned public spaces and market areas. The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the enthusiastic participation of all stakeholders and encouraged continued community-led efforts to keep Dimapur clean and beautiful.

MELURI

In Meluri Town, the administrative department spearheaded a mass social work covering all schools, offices and public areas. The initiative aimed to promote hygiene and civic responsibility ahead of the festive season.

LONGLENG

In Longleng, the district administration mobilized departments, institutions, civil society organizations and residents for the mass social work, ensuring widespread participation across the district.

MOKOKCHUNG

In Mokokchung, various departments actively participated in the district-wide social work, cleaning public areas and institutional premises.

CHÜMOUKEDIMA

In Chümoukedima, Deputy Commissioner Polan John led a joint inspection along National Highway-29 up to the Chathe River Bridge as part of the district-wide mass social work. The initiative saw active involvement from all government departments, Chümoukedima Town Council, civil society organisations and the general public.

TIZIT

In Tizit Sub-division, the mass social work focused on clearing roadside obstructions, cleaning drainages and improving shopfronts with proper signboards, dustbins and lighting. As directed by ADC Tizit, Relise Sangtam, government employees, institutions and residents took part in the cleaning drive.

At Mon Town, the Deputy Commissioner’s Office led the initiative, which included removal of roadside waste, drainage clearance and weed cleaning. Shopkeepers were advised to install proper lighting and repaint their buildings. Both government employees and the public participated actively.

MEDZIPHEMA

At Medziphema Sub-division, the drive began at 6:30 a.m. and included removal of building materials stacked along roadsides, demolition of roadside latrines and pigsties, and clearing of vegetation along highways. Road dividers on the Dimapur–Kohima stretch were also cleaned. A team comprising EAC Medziphema, Principal IETC and Director SAMETI oversaw the event. Government offices, institutions, village councils, GBs and the general public participated in large numbers.
