Nagaland: Mass social work conducted ahead of R-Day

DIMAPUR

In view of the forthcoming Republic Day celebration 2026, mass social work programmes were conducted at Medziphema sub-division and Peren district headquarters on January 23.
At Medziphema, the social work was conducted under the supervision of the Medziphema administration. Government officers, institutions, village councils, business establishments, town councillors and the general public actively participated by carrying out cleanliness drives in office premises, localities, markets and residential areas. Special emphasis was laid on the collection, segregation and proper disposal of debris and waste materials.
In Peren, the mass social work was spearheaded by the district administration as part of district-wide preparations for the national event. Officers and staff from various government departments undertook cleanliness drives, including removal of dry weeds, litter, and general sanitation and beautification works in and around office premises and other assigned locations. Business establishments in Jalukie remained closed during the drive in support of the initiative.
