NSCN-K (YA) claims attack on AR camp in Arunachal

DIMAPUR, JAN 26 (NPN)

NSCN-K (Yung Aung) faction has claimed responsibility for an armed attack on an Assam Rifles camp in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday morning.
In a press statement issued through its MIP, the group claimed that its “Naga Army tactical unit” carried out an attack around 8 a.m. on what it described as the “4th Assam camp” at Ranglom village. It claimed that the extent of casualties on the security forces’ side could not be ascertained as the area was reportedly sealed off following the incident.
The group further alleged that security forces retaliated by harassing civilians in the area. While expressing regret that the public had to suffer the consequences, it termed the attack a “necessary step” in defending Naga land and asserted that its armed operations would continue, adding that the Naga army was prepared to target the forces and their secret agencies. The statement also lauded its cadres for “delivering a strong message to the enemy forces”.
