The Border Area Cultural Exchange Programme took place on Thursday at Dan ITC in Noklak district along Indo-Myanmar border.
Gracing the event, L. Ngon, president, Khiamniungan Tribal Council, praised the collaboration between the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India and Department of Art & Culture, Govt of Nagaland for organising the cultural programme, emphasizing that culture is a powerful way to unite people and showcase performing arts.
Teisovikuolie Therie, deputy director cum nodal officer, Department of Art & Culture, government of Nagaland delivered the keynote address while P. Shingnya, chairman, Dan Village Council pronounced welcome address.
DC Lohani spoke on behalf of 32nd AR posted at the border camp.
The event witnessed cultural performances from the cultural troupes of New Pangsha Pou Hoi, New Pangsha Women Cultural Club, Tai Education Initiative, Jorhat, Assam, Old Pangsha Pou Hoi, Old Pangsha Women Cultural Club, and Tai Education Initiative, Marani, Jorhat.
Certificate of appreciation was awarded to all the participants and the event concluded with vote of thanks by Khaming Khiamniungan, assistant research officer.
