The Longleng District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Longleng, W. Manpai Phom at the DPDB Hall, Longleng, on April 14.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting reviewed previous minutes, including the proposal for establishment of Government Primary School (GPS) Anaki (C), and forwarded to the concerned department for approval. On the adoption of the National Highway Act, 1956 for land acquisition, in respect of National Highway projects, the DC informed that discussions between the government and civil society organizations are ongoing on this issue and a decision is expected shortly.
The house discussed preparations for the Viksit Nagaland @2047 district consultation. Nodal Officer and EAC Longleng, Er. Vinoh Swu, briefed members and directed departments to present on five SWG pillars such as—economic, social, environment, infrastructure and governance at the meeting scheduled on April 17, 2026. The chairman instructed officials to complete data analysis and review schemes, and asked all HoDs to attend with inputs to find facts and figures, and departmental plans.
The department of EE PWD (R&B) presented departmental activities, while the Soil and Water Conservation Department was assigned to present in the next meeting.
The DC urged coordination committees to ensure proper implementation of schemes and directed officers to remain at their place of posting, warning that absenteeism would be viewed seriously. Officials and staff must fulfil responsibilities and tasks assigned by the higher authorities. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the chairman.
