The 5th Pre-State Shooting Championship 2026 in Small Bore Rifle and Pistol events will be held from June 16 to 19 at the Aries Sports Complex Shooting Ranges, Bamunpukhuri-I.
The championship is being organized by the Aries Rifle and Pistol Shooting Academy, Khelo India Centre, Dimapur, and will be conducted by the Nagaland Rifle Association.
According to the organisers, participation is open to registered shooters from affiliated district rifle associations, clubs and academies across Nagaland. The competition will feature individual events, and entries must be submitted through respective district associations, clubs or academies.
The last date for submission of entries with normal fees is June 1 (till 6:30 PM), while late entries with triple fees will be accepted until June 3 (6:30 PM).
Shooters will compete across multiple age categories, including juniors (born in 2005 or after), youth (born in 2007 or after), sub-youth (born in 2010 or after), masters (45–60 years), senior masters (60–70 years), and super masters (70 years and above). Juniors and youth participants will also be eligible to compete in higher categories, while sub-youth shooters may participate in all categories except masters and senior masters events.
Participants without a Shooter ID have been instructed to apply through the National Rifle Association of India website, while those already possessing an ID can use their existing registration.
The organisers informed that the championship will be conducted in accordance with national and International Shooting Sport Federation rules and regulations. A protest fee of Rs. 200 has been fixed, while appeals to the jury will require a fee of Rs. 500, refundable if upheld.
The organising committee has reserved the right to amend rules or close any event in case of emergencies. Participants have been urged to maintain discipline throughout the competition, and shooting practice in hotels has been strictly prohibited.
No refund of entry fees will be made in case of non-participation after submission, and requests for changes in participation dates or lane allocations will not be entertained. Shooters are required to report to the range at least 90 minutes prior to their scheduled time.
