NSCN (I-M) rejects KSO Delhi allegations

DIMAPUR, MAY 17 (NPN): NSCN (I-M) has categorically rejected and strongly condemned allegations made in a statement issued by Kuki Students’ Organisation Delhi and NCR on May 16 regarding incidents in Manipur.
In a press statement issued through its MIP, NSCN (I-M) described the allegations as reckless, unverified, politically motivated and aimed at provoking communal mistrust and deepening tensions among communities affected by the ongoing unrest in Manipur. In this regard, NSCN (I-M) denied any association with terrorism, unlawful armed activities or organised criminal operations, and also rejected what it termed “false and malicious claims” intended to demonise entire communities through sweeping accusations. NSCN (I-M) further said that facts were being deliberately distorted for political propaganda and public manipulation.
NSCN (I-M) said it was deeply concerning that such statements allegedly sought to exploit sensitive incidents, communal sentiments and national security concerns for divisive purposes. It said public platforms and student organisations should act responsibly and uphold peace, moral values and factual integrity instead of spreading narratives that could incite hostility and social unrest.
The further group stated that no individual or organisation had the authority to pronounce guilt without due process of law and maintained that allegations against communities or groups without judicial determination amounted to defamation and incitement.
It also claimed that attempts to threaten political consequences or create fear through provocative language were harmful to democratic harmony.
The group warned that continued circulation of false, defamatory, communal and inflammatory statements against any community or organisation should cease immediately, adding that repetition of such irresponsible conduct may compel “appropriate legal, constitutional and administrative actions under applicable national Azha.”
NSCN (I-M) also appealed to Indian authorities, civil society organisations, student bodies and the media to avoid one-sided narratives and work collectively towards justice, peace and stability.
