NHPC conducts free medical camps at Mohung, Longching villages

DIMAPUR: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, NHPC Limited organised free medical health camps at Mohung village on May 14 and Longching village on May 15 under Aboi block, in collaboration with district administration and the health department.
The initiative aimed at improving access to healthcare services for people in remote rural areas. Separate medical teams were constituted for each village to ensure smooth conduct and effective delivery of services.
At Mohung, 264 beneficiaries received medical assistance including antenatal care (ANC), ultrasound screening, dental consultations, ophthalmology services, general health check‑ups and free medicine distribution. The medical team comprised Dr. Wungyong, DPO (RCH/UIP); Dr. Hangsa, MO CHC Aboi; Dr. K. Shechung Konyak, MO UPHC; Dr. Chingyen, MO Wakching; Dr. Tingthong Konyak, MO OSD; Dr. Lily, MO RBSK; along with nurses, an ophthalmic assistant, pharmacist and support staff.
At Longching, 469 patients attended the camp. An IEC team conducted a health talk and awareness programme on hygiene and disease prevention. The medical team included Dr. Ngampa Sangme, Dr. Wangba, Dr. Hangsa, Dr. Ngophelo Keviechu, Dr. Lily, Dr. Wanmei, Dr. Chimang Paul, Dr. Nyemnyei and Dr. Nungshikoba Imchen, supported by nurses, laboratory technician, TB staff, HIV supervisor and counsellor, pharmacists, BPM, IEC personnel and other staff. Altogether, 733 people benefitted from the two camps, which provided vital healthcare support to women, elderly persons and economically disadvantaged residents. NHPC expressed gratitude to medical officers, healthcare workers, volunteers, district officials and village authorities for their cooperation, reaffirming its commitment to community welfare, rural healthcare outreach and inclusive development.
