WYLA condemns sexual assault

DIMAPUR: Western Yimkhiung Liberü Arihako (WYLA) has strongly condemned the “shameful and inhumane” act of sexual abuse, life threatening assault and physical violence committed against a minor girl and her family members at Phesama village on May 12.
In a statement, WYLA president N. Asen and general secretary W. Toshila, described the incident as not merely a crime against an individual but a direct assault on the safety, dignity and collective conscience of society. The organisation appealed to law enforcing agencies to take swift action against the perpetrator in accordance with the law and deliver justice to the victims.
WYLA expressed solidarity with the victim and her family, assuring prayers for their strength and comfort.
