WOKHA, MAY 17 (NPN): All Commercial Vehicle Association (ACVA), Wokha district, celebrated its 12th foundation day at VDB Hall, Wokha, on May 17 with associate pastor of WTBC, Zurenthung Humtsoe, as theme speaker.
Delivering the theme address, Zurenthung urged members to place God first and thank Him for guidance and blessings. He encouraged members to retrospect and introspect while setting new goals, and described commercial vehicle drivers as providers of essential services, calling the profession a noble job. He further urged members to respect association leaders and called upon leaders to serve with honesty and integrity.
Founding member Renbomo Humtsoe recalled the struggles faced during the initial years of the association, which was formed to uphold the resolution of “One Government, One Tax” and safeguard drivers’ interests. Stressing that “unity is strength,” he urged members to remain firm and cooperate with leadership for the welfare of the organisation.
During the programme, the house unanimously resolved to extend full support to the ongoing “Drug‑Free Wokha” campaign initiated by Lotha Youth Hoho. Finance secretary T. Renbemo Kikon presented the financial report for 2026–27.
The members reaffirmed resolutions adopted on May 29, 2018 regarding non‑local owners operating commercial vehicles under ACVA jurisdiction and reiterated their stand on protecting the rights of local operators. The issue of introducing local taxis by ANTA Wokha Unit, tabled by Wokha District Auto Union, was also deliberated, with the house assuring full cooperation.
The house strongly reaffirmed its commitment to the principle of “One Government, One Tax”, terming it a core foundation of the association since inception. Simon Ezung was appointed as joint secretary of ACVA Wokha district.
