Sub-Centre inaugurated at Vihoshe village

DIMAPUR: The new Sub-Centre at Vihoshe village was inaugurated on May 29 by Dr. T. Yetovi Tuccu, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dimapur, following a dedicatory prayer by Shinito Yeptho, pastor of Vihoshe Village Baptist Church (VVBC).
In his inaugural address, Dr. Yetovi described the occasion as “a remarkable day for the village and the health department,” noting that the establishment of an additional Sub-Centre would strengthen healthcare delivery. He urged villagers to take ownership of the centre and actively participate in all health activities.
Dr. Yetovi clarified that the Sub-Centre would focus on providing basic healthcare and preventive services, with special emphasis on maternal and child care, including antenatal care (ANC) and immunization. He also stressed the importance of health education, encouraging residents to adopt healthy lifestyles by avoiding junk and processed food and engaging in regular exercise. Cautioning against reliance on pseudo health experts such as “kobiraz,” he advised the community to seek proper medical care.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Hokuto I. Swu, secretary of Vihoshe Village Council, and began with an opening prayer by Toliho A. Chophy, youth pastor, VVBC. A welcome address was delivered by Vihoshe Yepthomi, head GB, followed by a folk song Lejole performed by Xutoli S. Yeptho I/C. The vote of thanks was proposed by Shiheto Yepthomi, assistant GB, and the event concluded with a benediction by Qhutoli S. Awomi, women pastor, VVBC.
