Mission Shakti committee meeting held

DIMAPUR: The quarterly meeting of the District Level Committee of Mission Shakti, along with a consultative session for the constitution of the management committee of Sakhi One Stop Centre, was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Wokha, on June 23. According to DIPR report, the meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner and chairperson of Mission Shakti, K. Mhathung Tsanglao.
The session began with a review of previous discussions under Mission Shakti, including progress of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme. Deliberations were held on the action plan, suggestions for improvement and tracking of completed and ongoing activities in the district.
Central Administrator of Sakhi One Stop Centre, Thungbeni Kikon, highlighted the roles and responsibilities of the newly constituted management committee. The committee comprises the Deputy Commissioner as chairperson, Superintendent of Police, Secretary of District Legal Services Authority, District Bar Council Chairperson, Chief Medical Officer, District Programme Officer/Protection Officer, District Panchayat Officer, three civil society representatives (minimum two women), and ITDA/ITDP Project Officer where applicable.
The composition was discussed to ensure effective functioning and accountability of the Sakhi One Stop Centre in providing integrated support and assistance to women in distress.
