DIMAPUR, JUN 24 (NPN): Western Sumi Hoho (WSH), along with its frontal organisations and area chairmen, on Wednesday resolved to constitute separate committees to address issues related to oil and natural resources as well as border matters within the Western Sumi area.
WSH through its media cell stated that the hoho at a meeting held on June 24, 2026 resolved to establish the “Western Sumi Area Oil and Natural Resources Committee”. The committee would function under the aegis of WSH, it stated. The house also decided to constitute a separate committee to examine border-related issues. The committee would likewise function under the supervision of WSH.
Meanwhile, WSH resolved to encourage cordial relations and mutual respect among all tribes, promoting unity, peace, understanding and peaceful coexistence. It also reaffirmed its support for an early and peaceful resolution of the “Indo-Naga” political issue.
The hoho also issued an advisory on the use of social media and cautioned against its misuse for spreading hatred, provoking others or disrupting social harmony.
The hoho warned that any individual found using social media to criticise others in a manner that disturbed communal harmony would face strict disciplinary action.
