DIMAPUR: Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) conducted one-day orientation programme on Holistic Progress Card (Secondary Stage) in two phases, on October 28, at Greenwood School, Kuda Village, Dimapur, and on October 30, at Regional Centre of Excellence for Music and Performing Arts (RCEMPA), Jotsoma, Kohima. The programme was organised under guidance of PARAKH, NCERT, ahead of introduction of the card in all registered schools from the academic session beginning January 2027.
A press release by NBSE stated that the Holistic Progress Card is a national instrument for assessment of learner’s progress and development, designed by PARAKH under National Education Policy 2020. It captures and records learner’s progress throughout the year rather than at a single point through an examination, and carries learner’s own reflection and a classmate’s feedback alongside the teacher’s assessment, with every activity on card assessed against three abilities, Awareness, Sensitivity and Creativity, at three levels, Beginner, Proficient and Advanced.
The sessions covered discussions on Parts A to F of the card and the official “How to Fill” guidelines. Teachers were also given practical work, including filling of mock student profile and mock Parent-Teacher Interaction, while participants were provided compendium of the day’s activities with worked answers, roadmap of the implementation year aligned to Board’s academic calendar, and a reference poster for the staff room. Participants will now orient remaining secondary level teachers of their own schools, and schools were required to submit an Action Taken Report to the Board by December 15.
The release added that teachers representing registered schools from all 17 districts of the State attended.
