ACAUT, RPP mourn Subongwati’s demise

ACAUT Nagaland and the Rising People’s Party (RPP) have mourned the demise of L. Subongwati Ao, the second chairman of ACAUT Nagaland. He was 74 years old. 

In a condolence message, ACAUT through its media cell stated that late L. Subongwati Ao was instrumental in guiding the ACAUT movement in its initial stage with his upright quality, humility and perseverance. “It was under his leadership that ACAUT’s first Public Rally was held on October 31, 2013”, ACAUT added.  It stated that his untimely demise was a great loss for the Naga society.  ACAUT Nagaland conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed to the Almighty for comfort and solace. It further prayed for the departed soul rest in peace. 

RPP: The Rising People’s Party (RPP) in its condolence message stated that as a retired government servant, late L. Subongwati Ao was actively engaged in public life, and was a founder member of the ACAUT movement. He was also the first chairman of Dimapur Urban Colony Chairman Federation (DUCCF). 

RPP described late L. Subongwati Ao as a humble man, who in the initial years of the movement guided the movement with deftness. “To carry the aspirations of the masses reeling under unabated taxation was no easy task but during his tenure – he was the chairman for around two years – he navigated the churning waters with ease”.  RPP also said given his humble and easy going nature, he was able to command the respect of all the different organisations under the ACAUT banner. 

It stated that the Naga family has lost a benevolent figure, somebody who preferred to shun limelight and grieves with the bereaved family.
