Chairman SDPDB Bhandari Achumbemo Kikon, MLA, on April 5, re-opened the Government Primary School (GPS) Zukheshe (Tsapfu) under 40 Bhandari AC, after a gap of seven years.
A press release by media secretary to the MLA informed that the GPS Zukheshe was earlier merged with Government Middle School (GMS) Puneboto, under SDEO Mankholemba in 2017.
However, with the improvement of enrollment at the Primary level, the department of School Education decided to de-merge GPS Zukheshe from GMS Puneboto through a government approval order, followed by Directorate of School Education order.
Kikon, while thanking the department of school education for restoring GPS Zukheshe to its original place, appealed to the department to post sufficient number of teachers for smooth running of the school.
He also urged the department to consider shifting of GPS Zukheshe from SDEO Mankholemba to SDEO Bhandari as it falls within 40 AC.
