AR conduct various activities

Assam Rifles, under the aegis of IGAR (North) conducted various welfare activities across the state. Wreath Laying Ceremony: Wreath laying ceremony was conducted at Unit War Memorial at Ghaspani to pay homage to Braveheart Rfn Huidrom Bijendro Singh, SC (P) who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on December 27, 2005 when the unit was deployed in Bishnupur, Manipur. The event was attended by three officers, 20 JCOs and 201 other ranks of Assam Rifles where attendees were briefed on how fallen hero displayed conspicuous gallantry, indomitable resolve, grit, determination and selflessness beyond the call of duty and made the supreme sacrifice in the true tradition of the Force.


Security coordination meetings: Assam Rifles organised a security coordination meeting in Sheanghah Chingnyu, Mon district, on December 28. The meeting was attended by village authorities from Sheanghah Chingnyu, S Mokok, S Wamsa, S Tangten, Lokyo and Nyahnyu.
The main agenda of the meeting was to review the prevailing security situation in the villages and develop cordial relations between Assam Rifles and Public. At the meeting, the locals assured their support to the security forces in maintaining peace, harmony and pledged to curb any illegal activities, informed Assam Rifles in a press statement.


Assam Rifles also organised security meeting with Village Council chairmen and Gaon Boras, at Chakhabama on December 27. The meeting was attended by 30 individuals, including GBs, Village Council Secretaries, Village Council chairmen from Sakhabama, Dihoma, Kezo town, Kikruma,Kezoma and Kidima village. The meeting was organised to bolster relations with locals under the theme “Unity in Diversity”. Further, guidelines with respect to registration for Agniveer and SSC GD rally was disseminated to them and villagers were encouraged to enroll and join armed forces.


Orientation training for probationers of Nagaland civil services: Assam Rifles conducted Orientation Training for probationers of Nagaland Civil Service at Kohima from December 18 to 22 where a total of nine probationers attended the training. They were introduced to Operational, Administrative and Training aspects of Assam Rifles.


The probationers were introduced to basic structure of Assam Rifles, exposed to battle obstacle course, live firing, physical training, mobile check post and various other aspects related to Assam Rifles in Kohima, Chieswema and Jessami.


The probationers also interacted with GBs and VCCs of various villages, students of NIEDO, visited COB, interacted with Inspector General Assam Rifles (North), Maj Gen Vikas Lakhera, SM and Deputy Inspector General, 5 Sect Assam Rifles, Brig Herjinder Singh and shared their feedback during the capsule.
