District AIDS prevention and cure unit under CMO Peren conducted awareness programme on basics of HIV & AIDS, STI, life skills and adolescence education on June 29 at ASHSS Peren.
The resource person were district ICTC supervisor, Ngauzeulungbe, accountant DAPCU, Ekiebe, monitoring & evaluation assistant, Heluipoing Poireng and program assistant DAPCU, Pauheugau.
During the programme, Heluipoing Poireng covered topic on basics facts of HIV & AIDS, route of transmission and STI was covered. He also stressed on the importance of HIV & AIDS and its origin, and the four major routes of transmission. He also shared on the importance of STI.
Ngauzeulungbe in its presentation shared the students on the measures and prevention on HIV & AIDS and basic life skills development on how to abstain oneself from HIV.
Pauheugau also gave a power point presentation on teenage pregnancy and its consequences and also the basic life skills on how to abstain from teenage pregnancy. Furthermore, he also shared on the health service available and delivery in the district.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by DAPCU accountant, Ekiebe and attended by the students 206 (standard 9- 12) including teachers.
