
Beisumpuiram village under Ahthibung sub-division, Peren district government recognition programme was held on November 27, with deputy commissioner of Peren, Sentiwapang Aier as the special guest.
According to DIPR report, speaking on the occasion, DC Peren lauded the village leaders for their tireless efforts and initiative from the start till the recognition of the village by the Government of Nagaland. He also encouraged the villagers to seek God’s blessings in order to move forward towards development and progress. Aier mentioned that all round development could be attained only by maintaining peace and tranquility. He also encouraged them not to depend much on government schemes and jobs but to adopt private entrepreneurship and become self-sufficient. Aier added, for a village to develop, health and education sectors were of major importance, therefore he urged the local people in the village to put more focus on these two sectors. A memorandum was also submitted by Beisumpuiram Village Council to DC.
Earlier, inauguration of village recognition monolith was done by the DC, while stone opening prayer was pronounced by pastor, Akwabe, in the programme chaired by Deibambe. Others who spoke included chairman Old Beisumpui, Urangtalakpe, ex-chairman Beisumpuiram, Mbailang, SDO (C) Ahthibung, Alemyapang Longchar, Zeme Council president, Dr. Tumda Newme and ZSU (N) president, Aakam Pame. Village was established on May 17, 2006 and recognised by government on October 12, 2017, by former chief minister, T.R Zeliang.
