Nagaland governor, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, was formally inducted as the Chief Patron of the Nagaland Bharat Scouts and Guides (NBSG) during the induction and award ceremony held on Saturday at Dr. Imkongliba Ao Hall, Raj Bhavan, Kohima.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor congratulated five Scouts and 11 Guides who received the Rajya Puraskar (Governor’s Award)—the highest recognition at the State level. He described the award as a symbol of discipline, leadership, service and commitment to the principles of scouting and guiding, and encouraged the recipients to aspire towards the President’s Award.
Bhalla lauded the Bharat Scouts and Guides movement for its role in character building, civic responsibility and youth development, and praised NBSG for instilling adventure, service and integrity among the younger generation. Reaffirming his support as Chief Patron, he assured close cooperation with officials, leaders and volunteers to expand the movement across all districts of the State.
During the ceremony, Tritiya Sopan and Rajya Puraskar certificates were presented, and Padma Shri Sano Vamuzo was felicitated.
Earlier, the keynote and welcome address was delivered by Commissioner & Secretary, Youth Resources and Sports (YRS), and vice president, NBSG, Anthony Ngullie. Presidential speech and Tritiya Sopan certificates were presented by advisor, YRS, and president, NBSG, S. Keoshu Yimkhiung. Vote of thanks was proposed by State Commissioner, NBSG, Chubanungla.
