Chakhesang bodies mourn demise of former WCH prez

DIMAPUR

Western Chakhesang Mother’s Association (WCMA), Western Chakhesang Students’ Union (WCSU), and Western Chakhesang Youth Organisation (WCYO) have expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Wezhietsu Mero, former president of Western Chakhesang Hoho (WCH) and former councillor of the Naga Council Dimapur (NCD), who passed away on August 28 in Dimapur.
In separate condolence messages, the organisations described late Mero as a towering figure whose leadership and contributions left a lasting impact on both the Chakhesang community and the larger Naga society.
They acknowledged his unwavering dedication, principled leadership, and lifelong service to the people.
WCMA commended the strength and endurance shown by late Mero during his prolonged illness, and lauded the exemplary care and devotion extended by his family throughout nearly a decade of his bedridden condition.
The association stated that his legacy would continue to live on through the values he upheld.
WCSU remembered him as a visionary leader who led with integrity and compassion, and whose commitment to community upliftment would continue to inspire future generations.
The union extended condolences to the bereaved family and loved ones.
WCYO described late Mero as an embodiment of wisdom, humility and integrity, and noted that his passing was a profound and irreparable loss to the community.
The organisation conveyed its deepest sympathies and offered prayers for strength and comfort to the family.
