CM Rio reaffirms Nagaland’srole in global Church mission

Nagaland chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio on Thursday emphasized Nagaland’s rich Christian heritage and the role of churches in society.
Rio reaffirmed Nagaland’s commitment to contributing to the global Church’s mission and urged the youth to carry forward the legacy of faith with courage and humility.
In a post on his social media handle X, Rio, while addressing the India Mission Summit 2025, hosted by the India Mission Coordination Committee and NBCC at the Dimapur Ao Baptist Arogo on Thursday, highlighted Nagaland’s rich heritage of faith rooted in homes, communities, and institutions, emphasizing the pivotal role of churches in shaping society and identity.
He noted the global Christian movement’s ongoing transformation and the Church’s continued mission in education, healthcare, social service, and promoting peace and reconciliation.
“We pray to remain a beacon of faith & hope, steadfast in evangelism both at home & abroad. May our youth be inspired to carry forward this legacy of faith with courage & humility, as true ambassadors of Christ,” Rio stated.
He described the summit as a meaningful platform for prayer, reflection, and shared purpose and expressed gratitude for the gathering of leaders and believers from across the country.
Rio also acknowledged the responsibility borne by leaders and followers of Christ and sought prayers for wisdom, courage, and guidance to lead with integrity even in challenging times.
