Nagaland BJP unit has hit back at the Nagaland Pradesh Congress committee (NPCC), stating that their intolerant statements have shown the real frustration of the party as it was diminishing in all electoral fronts.
BJP unit media cell said Congress was restless to see the rapid growth of the BJP across the country, since most of the Congressmen had deserted the party knowing that it was sinking.
BJP said its government was firm in providing corruption-free and good governance unlike the Congress which had ruled the nation for many years with corruption at all levels. It reminded NPCC that the Congress’s dynastic politic was fading away as people had lost confidence.
In this regard, BJP unit appealed to the people “not to be swayed by the rumours or cheap political propaganda”, but to have confidence in the Indian constitution which provides protection and guarantee the freedom of religion or faith to every citizen. It claimed that since BJP had emerged as the largest secular political party in the world, it wanted the state of Nagaland to also witness the pragmatic approach for all round development in the near future.
BJP being a dynamic political party was determined to make India free from Congress, the media cell stated. “And so if the NPCC has sense, then it is better for them to join the secular party for all round development,” it added.
It further clarified that the BJP was a secular political party for good governance and registered under the Election Commission of India while RSS was a cultural organisation.
With regard allegations on events being held on Christian holy days, BJP said since former PM AB Vajpayee, was born on December 25, the government of India had declared the day (Dec 25) as Good Governance Day on account of his birthday which also coincides with the Christmas day.
However, it reminded that the BJP unit including the state government observe Good Governance day either before or after December 25.
BJP further said that the Central government had also declared Digital India Day on April 14 on the occasion of Dr. Ambedkar’s birthday to acknowledge the father of Indian Constitution and social reformer. However, BJP said though God Friday date keeps changing every year, this year (2017) the birthday of Dr. Ambedkar coincided with Good Friday. It also pointed out that the International Yoga Day on June 21 was declared by the United Nation.
