
State Environment and Forestry Training Institute (SEFTI), Dimapur conducted convocation programme for the 40th batch of forest guards on January 30, with additional principal chief conservator of Forest and chief wildlife warden, Ved Pal Singh as chief guest in the presence of senior officials of the department.
A press release by SEFTI deputy director, Obed Bohovi Sema stated that, 25 forest guards from various forest divisions across the state completed compulsory induction training from SEFTI, Dimapur.
Ved Pal Singh congratulated the passing out trainees and encouraged them to strive for technical competence, adding that with the ongoing JICA project being implemented by the department, the importance of technical competence assume much more importance.
He also highlighted on the importance of right intervention in the day to day activities and programmes of the department. He further reminded the trainees keep updated with technical knowledge.
Director of SEFTI, Dimapur, Shakiba Yimchunger in his annual report presented during the programme acknowledged the help and assistance from various departments and agencies.
He reminded the trainees to look forward to a better future and a healthier world as they pass out as trained foresters.
