Curfew in Kiphire dist

Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Kiphire, Mohammed Ali Shihab (IAS), as empowered by the state government has restricted the movement of three or more persons in groups between 6 p.m to 6 a.m within Kiphire district with effect from February 25, till the entire election process is over. The order stated that the restriction was being passed under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPc). Polling personnel, magistrates and security personnel are exempted from the purview of this order, it said. The order warned that individuals found violating the order will be arrested and necessary action will be initiated against them as per the provisions of the law.
